New Song Family Church

New Song Family Church began as a small gathering of 12 in November of 2001. The church was started as a response to felt needs expressed by students who had recently become followers of Jesus Christ. The first meeting was in the St George’s School hall the year before the College was started. The church has grown and now is made up of families from all walks of life. It is a picture of the cultural diversity found in Windhoek but acts in the unity that only God can bring to people from different backgrounds.

Our Vision

Our vision is that we will love God, love each other and serve the world.

Our Story

New Song Family Church is a church that started out of a youth group called YWAP – Youth With A Purpose. What originally started with those youth and their parents, has over the years grown into a fully fledged church.
Our aim is to reach Namibia, starting in Windhoek. People from all over Namibia come to Windhoek and if we reach those people for Christ, then they are able to go back to their families and share the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Our Beliefs & Values

What we believe determines how we go through this life with the decisions we make and how we choose to live in society. These are our beliefs and values as New Song Family Church.

About God

God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He eternally exists in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God. (Genesis 1:1,26,27; 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Corinthians 13:14)

About the Father

He is the first person of the Trinity. He gave His only Son that no one would perish. He is father to the fatherless. He has adopted us as children. He has made man through His son co-heirs of creation. No one can snatch His children from His hands. His fullness dwells in Jesus Christ. He is the defense of the poor and the oppressed. (Psalms 68:5; James 1:17; John 3:16; John 1:13; Romans 8:15; 2 Corinthians 6:18; Ephesians 5:1)

About Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is fully God and fully man. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all men by dying on a cross. He is the friend of sinners. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven’s glory and will return again to earth to reign as King of Kings, and Lord of Lords. (Matthew 1:22,23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5, 14:10-30; Hebrews 4:14,15; 1 Corinthians 15:3,4; Romans 1:3,4; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Timothy 6:14,15; Titus 2:13; Philippians 2:5-11)

About the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He is present in the world to empower men to be witnesses of man’s need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He gives gifts to each believer to be used to administer God’s grace to build up the body to the full measure of Christ. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. The Christian seeks to live under His filling daily, manifesting the fruit of the Holy Spirit. Whereas not everyone has every spiritual gift, every believer is expected to exhibit the spiritual fruit. (2 Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13, 14:16,17; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 2:12, 3:16; Ephesians 1:13; Galatians 5:19-26; Ephesians 4:7-13)

About Salvation

Salvation is a gift by grace from God to man. Man can never make up for his sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can man be saved from sin’s penalty. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by grace through faith. All believers have direct access to God through Jesus Christ. (Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8,9; John 3:3; John 3:16; John 14:6, 1:12; Titus 3:5-6; Galatians 3:26; Romans 5:1)

For the church is not a human society of people united by their natural affinities but the Body of Christ, in which all members, however different, (and He rejoices in their differences and by no means wishes to iron them out) must share the common life, complementing and helping one another precisely by their differences.
